myMIT updates

My school sent in my school report and transcript ~3 weeks ago and it should have gotten to MIT by now... but it hasn't shown up on my checklist on myMIT. I also had my interview 2 weeks ago and it hasn't been recorded and sent in a copy of my green card around the same time and that hasn't been recorded either. Does it usually take a little while for MIT to update the website or is everything I am sending just getting lost? The only things that have been recorded are Appl'n Part 1 and the fee (both of which were submitted online) and my test scores.

I seem to be having this problem (things getting lost) with almost every college I am applying to... and school's closed so I can't send another transcript...

Help!...

I have the same problem with my school report+transcript and interview... For now, I'm just going to wait it out. If by around the 26-27th it doesn't show up, I'm going to email the writers and call the admissions office.

Wait a bit, and then definitely call.

My science recommendation, which I was totally banking on, didn't show up for the longest time and we actually think it was lost in the mail. I called admissions 2-3 weeks after the deadline (and over a month and a half after the rec was mailed), we worked it out, and my teacher just emailed his rec as an attachment (technically, you're supposed to fax them, but he didn't want to do that).

They're very nice people and generally won't bite your head off. It's worth just shooting off an email now if you're concerned and calling next week just to get things straighted out. The world will not end if everything's not in the system by the deadline.

Usually they say to wait 2 weeks before contacting them about missing materials, but since they were busy with early action up until last weekend (and it's the holiday season right now...) I would probably wait several more days. Not sure though, you might want to email/call the admissions office?

I doubt they have actually lost the materials though, it is likely that they are in the office but just have not been processed yet. In the EA round, my recs were sent more than a week before the deadline, and they didn't show up in tracking until almost two weeks after the deadline...a lot of my friends had the same issue.

I think I'll send them an e-mail now... I would expect that the only time that they would be slow to update the system would be right after the EA deadline (early november) and right after the RD deadline (early january)because of all of the last minute things sent ...

I'm even more worried because this is happening at almost all of the colleges I am applying to - for one of my other colleges, my counselor told me she put the school report and transcript in the same envelope and sent it... but the college has only gotten the transcipt, not the school report - how is that possible?

I also had the same thing happen to me- I think (and emphasis on the think) that colleges imput data in batches. So while I'm sure that the school report must be there, it just must not be in the system.

No need to fear! If they're missing, you'll hear!

Wow, really sorry about that. The temptation to rhyme was just too overwhelming.
