myths/legends at your school

At my school, we have multiple buildings, and in bad weather, traveling from building to building (crossing streets, etc) isn't fun. So the upperclassmen tell the freshmen that there is an underground tunnel that connects two buildings, and they try to sell tunnel passes for $10. Of course, there is no tunnel at all...lol.

Anything like this at other schools?

Missile silo in the middle of the school. I like to joke around with that a lot.

There's one about a swimming pool that used to be in the attic, but was removed because someone died in it.
Which is, of course, untrue.

Apparently, there is a ghost in our theatre. However, I had a class in the theatre the whole year and no ghost. I always get freaked out when I had to go behind the stage by myself lol. I still don't know why they would put journalism in the theatre.

I am a legend.

We had a joke about there being a swimming pool on the roof.

But the most famous myth was that a girl hung herself in the math room. Our school was(this is most likely true)a women's boarding school(possibly a mental institution) and apparently a girl hung herself in that room, which was a converted bedroom.

At my cousin's school, they tell incoming freshmen that there's a swimming pool on the third floor, too. Apparently, this is a popular "legend."

I don't think we have one at our school. Maybe I'll have to start one =)
Sadly, this isn't a myth: When rebuilding our school six years ago, the builders duplicated a prison's design plans. That brings new meaning to the whole "school = prison" expression!!!

hmm...well, the seniors always try to get people onto the 4th floor (on your schedule they refer to the extension of the 3rd floor) which actually leads to the roof...

"We had a joke about there being a swimming pool on the roof."

wow, the seniors at my school joked around about the same exact thing.

the seniors at my school told us (freshman) that there was a bomb shelter under the stairway, but our school is EXTREMELY old so we went looking for it but it turns out it is a really old old old closet that they kind of used it for a tornado shelter.

Oh at my school we tell the freshmen their is a pool on the roof..aha

Well not my school, but one of the elementary schools nearby, Mathew Whaley (in colonial williamsburg), was apparently named after a Colonial child who was accidentally locked in the attic and died there. No one really knows if it's true or not. Mathew Whaley is a real person (his grave is behind the Bruton Parish Church down the street), but no one really knows if he died in the school.

Haha, my school has the "pool on the roof" thing too. XD Of course, we also apparently have a cappucino machine in the basement...

If somebody were to tell the freshmen at my high school about there being a bomb shelter, the freshmen wouldn't believe them. Too it's actually true!! One part of our school has a bomb shelter underneath it. Now, a bomb today would most likely destroy it, but there is still technically a bomb shelter there. That part of the school was built in the 1930's.

We always said that one of our conference schools had a swimming pool underneath their gym floor. It's a massive gym and the floor sounds hollow.

A middle school in my area actually was a prison back in the "day". I never went there but I'm sure it had its fair share of tales.

There was a myth that someone died in this room at my middle school, I think it really happened though, there was an article in my schools paper about it. The room itself is boarded up and not used anymore, so thats where the rumor might have come from. As for High School, we don't have too many.

We had a myth that that our school was built over cattle slaughter house. then, I guess it was a senior prank, on the first day of school people splashed red paint all over the school. It was weird...
