Hey 2010s - What’s the name of the place that delivers food to the Hill? Something like “zoomie…” Hornet you said you spent $100 or more with them. lol

Thanks guys - I know my son will be hungry in the days to come.

Thanks guys - I know my son will be hungry in the days to come.

I found these two:

http://www.cadetcarepackages.com/

and

I have heard of a "zoomie ..." something but have no info on it. But, I have read that these others are good.

2010's out there - any experience with these? Are they good? The first one sounds like a nice break from AFA food on Sunday dinners.

Any other ideas?

Thanks.

zoomienet is the thing you are thinking of- www.zoomienet.com . It's basically just like a website where you can order food from nearby restaurants, and they deliver them all to the ECP's (Vandy and Sijan).

Warning, freshman are supposedly not supposed to order food (I guess it's a "priveledge"), but that should'nt deter anyone frm doing it cause it's not too hard to get away with.

Just to clarify a bit on these food services...my parents and I have used both Zoomienet and Cadet Care Packages.

Zoomienet is a site where cadets can order food from a bunch of good restaurants themselves, and parents/relatives can wire money into their account that they can spend.

Cadet Care Packages is a bit different, as it is run by a single guy, a graduate who does all the deliveries himself. He will go pick up food himself from places you can't get on zoomienet, such as P.F. Changs, Qdoba, Pizza Hut, and others. He offers different packages, and on his standard package, he brings the food along with cans of soda and homemade brownies. It's quite a bit more pricey than zoomienet, understandably.

So are they allowed to trek out to the ECP and get the food. Will there be Uppers waiting for them?

It really depends on the uppers. I got zoomienet a lot, and my uppers saw it. Fortunately, the ones that saw me didn't care, the only person that might have would be my 1st semester training officer. But otherwise, no one bothered me. Yeah, supposedly we weren't supposed to get it, but no one upheld that. It's a good service, not too pricey, and I loved getting panda express, noodles, chick-fil-a, and my favorite liquid crack: jamba juice.

I got cadet care packages once before for my birthday in May. I thought it was overpriced, but the brownies were incredible! Especially with the milk, yum yum.

Unfortunately zoomienet is closed for summer, but I have plenty of money in my account ready for the year when we start back up in august. :)

Thanks guys, I knew you would help me out. I had looked at the website months ago but couldn't remember the full name. Name's too close to the AOG newletter. <g></g>

So guys, somewhat try it at your own risk...or wait until you know your uppers a little better?

Depends. It seems like J is a bit more paranoid (aka follows the rules well :) ) so if he feels better he can wait. Honestly, I'd just get it because they would just say don't do it again. Easier to ask for forgiveness than to ask for permission. Also, since he is in 24, it might be more relaxed being both in group 3 and in Sijan.

Hornet - I am rotf and lol. You certainly have my son figured out!
I'll be at Acceptance Parade, I'll see what he thinks then.
Come find us after AP, if you can, and say Hi.

Should be able to, I plan to see a few people, getting to AP is an achievement.
