Name of some good, balanced colleges

I am in a state of severe desperation over finding a new school. I have attended U of M for only two weeks, and have already been assaulted with an onslaught of post-modern liberal critical theory (all of which has been conveyed in Alinsky tactic vitriol). I do not believe that an academic forum should be used to disseminate politics.

Does anyone know of some strong, academic oriented schools, that are also politically balanced?

^
George Washington University I believe.

MSU also is much more balanced than U of M, especially James Madison is known to be very balanced.

Most midwest universities I would say are pretty balanced, it’s coast colleges that tend to be more unbalanced.

What are you going into (what field)? It makes this suggestion thing easier.

Btw- why would you make a name based on a school you don’t like? Just wondering.

I can assure you that the University of Michigan is not balanced; in fact, it is painfully liberal. I have never seen such an outstanding degree of intolerance in a professional setting. All of my professors are either far left, or at the very least left of middle ground.

I don’t want to come off as a conservative close minded individual - I am actually quite open minded. The problem arrives when my professors are unwilling tolerae ideas that are in opposition to their own; and when you respectfully present them, they return with arrogant contempt. For example: In my macroeconomics class, we were discussing how each political ideology views the government’s scope on the economy. He was fairly balanced until he reached the Libertarians. In order to explain the Libertarians view on government, he sarcastically stated that “Libertarians are so opposed to government, that they would permit child pornography - they would even promote it!” I instantly objected, interrupting the class. He then broodingly employed his traditional Alinsky tactics: “I’ve studied politics at Cornell - I think I know more than you” and “Hey look, it’s a conservative losing control over an opposing viewpoint”. Needless to say, this guy is an obvious argument against tenure…

Oh, and it’s funny you mentioned the east coast is generally leftist. This professor has a Ph.d in Economics from Cornell =0 And my avatar was supposed to be university of michigan sucks, but it was too long

Huh? Where did I argue that it was not? Part of the reason that I didn’t go to U of M was because of it’s ultra liberal slant. And I am an ultra liberal.

Would you be willing to go OOS?

That is why I love distance education. For the most part, it keeps me away from the zoos known as campuses.
