Hi, I'm not sure if this is the right place to post but,
NAMFE letters should be coming out soon. Does anyone know how they choose participants?
Side note: Does anyone know how they determine instrument sections at state conference?
I just found out that I'm a second violin (state conference) in the strings orchestra. :(
Do I have a chance at All Eastern? (Doubt)

Additional info : Participated in school orchestra (lol ofc), did youth string ensemble for like 6-7 years, I am in an orchestra outside of school (1st violin, audition only, relatively competitive), etc.

I'm from zone 11 (?)
Also, has anyone heard about acceptances yet?

Any information (or sympathy) would be appreciated.

My daughter was in All-Eastern Mixed Chorus in 2013. Letters are mailed just before Thanksgiving to the school, so your teacher should probably hear this week if you got in. I can’t give any information about orchestra-specific questions, of course. But try not to be anxious! Just being at the caliber necessary to be nominated is highly impressive!

We’re waiting here to find out whether my son made All-Eastern Chorus this year. With my daughter, she got the news the day she left for All-State Chorus. That’s today, for my son. No phone calls yet, though. :/

How did it turn out, NotAMathlete? Did anyone from your school get in? Just something to consider…We didn’t think DS got in because notification day came and went, but there was one other nominee from our school who has made All-Nationals, and apparently even she didn’t get in. So our music teacher called the All-Eastern offices and asked them to check, and it turns out that there was an error with our school name (missing hyphen!) and so the notifications were lost. Both my son and his friend did indeed make All-Eastern. So if your school had no acceptances and that seems odd for your school, it’s worthwhile for your teacher to double check.

Regardless of your All-Eastern outcome, I’m sure the impressive accomplishments you already have achieved will serve you well!
