Thanks! That’s great news. Now about MIT and Caltech, would applying through Match be a more logical/feasible option than applying to EA?

^^^^^^^^^

I would go even farther as to say that MANY people got into their choices RD that had not matched them. As alexandrafitzmor said you can always send in new test scores or a significant EC or award. I would personally apply to all 3 to QB.

I heard you can’t “add” things to the QB app for the RD round… is that true? ECs/awards etc. Though I know it’s OK to send Nov/Dec SAT scores directly to the schools.

I do believe that is correct because you cannot access your application after the deadline. But schools do add things to your file as they receive them.

So how would that work? (Sending in extra ECs/awards etc for RD)

Just mail them an envelope with a polite letter and the new info? How do I verify they’ve put everything together? (Including new SAT scores that I send directly)

Sorry I don’t know how it works or what is possible… and I’m paranoid lol ^_^

D faxed Oct. ACT scores directly to her match schools, and then she was matched so she didn’t do RD, but I think people do both, faxing and snail mailing of new info. Maybe others could weigh in on that.

Does this idea make sense?:
Match: Princeton, Yale, Stanford?
EA: MIT, CalTech
RD: forward all Match schools if not matched, plus harvard, columbia, UC Berkeley, UCLA, dartmouth, williams

Should I just Match MIT and Caltech instead of EA? Thanks!!

^^^^^^
If you use Questbridge and ‘Match’ (some/any ) Questbridge schools - are you still allowed to also separately apply EA to ANY other schools??? (Questbridge or otherwise??)

I didn’t think so?? ???

Besides MIT is not binding… also not binding Princeton, Yale & Stanford. - CALTECH is binding.

I thought if you use Questbridge Application for match, you cannot apply EA at all ?
and if not matched you may request Questbridge to send your applications to any/all other Questbridge partner schools for RD. ??

Hopefully someone will Please carify - If not matched, will you have to send your applications for RD to Colleges NOT Questbridge partners yourself???..or if requested, will Questbridge send the Questbridge application to your list of (any) colleges for you???
(Assuming you will send any supplements (if necessary) directly to the colleges in addition to the Questbridge application yourself??

Me too confused!!!

I don’t think QB forwards apps to non-partner schools. And I don’t think you can apply EA to schools when you’re doing the match thing. There is so much info on their site and it definitely gets confusing after reading it. I keep finding new stuff when I go back!

It’s definitely a good idea to try through QB, because you’ll be getting more financial aid, and there are fewer students in this process than in the regular EA.

Even if they don’t have a specific form for sending in new information, you can just contact the office before the RD decision process. Most people get in through RD, not EA.

^^ - I thought not!

Thanks…and I agree - have to keep reading, and re-reading the website!!

Is it just me–or is access still denied?

^ - You are right - Application not up yet - so ‘access denied’ UGGHH!

Thanks. UGH! I want to start it already.

And I was just wondering, what’s the average SAT score for someone matched to Yale, Princeton, Stanford, UPenn?

Someone said 2000-2200 is good for QB finalists, but I have a 1980. I know it’s close, but should I consider taking it again?

On QB website they show an average SAT of 1346 or something around that for match recipients, but I don’t know what it is for those schools specifically. That’s a good question and I’m curious to know, too.

Is the 1346 for all 3 sections or just math/CR?
I hope not for math/CR because writing is my highest! /:

^ Yeah I’m pretty sure the 1346 would be for Math/CR.

I know some people last year did not match with Yale or MIT and those schools (& QB) allowed them to also try for EA/SCEA. They had, like, a three day window or something like that in which to resubmit under those programs. Then if they did not get accepted during that round they, obviously, could still leave their apps on file for regular.

I also remember a post from the Questbridge Finalist (parent?) who applied SCEA to Yale & also matched Yale in the Questbridge application, first round.
I believe the post mentioned contacting Yale/Questbridge for permission or something??? I can’t find that post!!! Can you point me to it??

Thanks

^Yea, I was wondering that too. I was thinking of applying to Yale or MIT EA as well as Match. Is this possible? The Match results come out later than the EA deadline…

It’s open! :)

Now I can finally say…IT’S UP!!!

The stress begins. :)
