1920 will be used by questbridge to determine if you become a finalist, however october scores can be sent directly to colleges, even for full consideration for the early match process

hmmmmmmm how do you think a 1920 will do in the selection process…i mean, its only a small part of the big picture

Alexandra - Thank you for any forthcomming help -
Yes, YOU, You are amazing…and you too flyingllama, He, he - maybe we’re all amazing?

xctf you’re fine haha, I think 1920 is about the average for becoming a finalist. Even the average for getting matched maybe? Also the acceptance rate for becoming a finalist is 50%.

and yes we’re all amazing lmao

can I be amazing too, lol?

xctf you are AMAZING!

wooooooooh!

K thanks! Ugh 7-8 essays ■■■…
so I can choose which sat ap sat ii scores to put on the QB app right? and theyll only consider those scores? even though the official score reports show ALL scores? thanks!

I don’t think this has been addressed, but if I’m wrong, feel free to verbally attack me. I think this kinda applies to all applications, not just QB, but I’m gonna ask it here anyhow cause you guys are pretty cool…If we took both SAT and ACT, but on QB app. we want to just put our best and most recent ACT score, is that okay? And when it comes time to list SAT IIs, can we do that without listing/sending SAT I score? On college board site they seem to indicate that when you request to send the score at time of registration it is only for the tests that you are registering for NOT past scores, correct?

I know Stanford does not participate in score choice, but what if I don’t want my SAT I considered, just my SAT IIs and ACT? Do you guys know anything about that?

Thanks…and yes, you are all friggin amazing ;)

@tomjonesistheman: I believe they only are supposed to recognize the ones you give them. If you did well, relatively speaking, on your scores, or just improved over time, then it will be good for you.

Remember, if you feel you fit the program well, and your scores are in the average or higher, you have good chances, but it is holistic, and the applications go up steadily every year, so it may be different.

@lsjny09: If you send in ACT and SAT 2s on you application, they’ll consider those.

[SAT Scores - View SAT Scores - Send Score Reports](<a href=“College Board - SAT, AP, College Search and Admission Tools”>SAT Scores – SAT Suite | College Board)

That should help.

I also have a question. MIT, when applying without Questbridge, wants you to have a teacher Rec from a math/science teacher right?

Well I’m going to get Recs from my AP Psych and AP US History teachers. Could I rank MIT? They say nothing of the sort on questbridge.org so I’m guessing they give you slack if it comes from QB? I’m afraid of asking MIT directly and screwing myself over lol

It’s MIT… you need a rec from a math/science teacher whether they ask you for one directly or not

so I’m screwed? I don’t know my math teacher

@xtcf: that’s correct, you are the average score for QB. The scores for the October test can be sent for the match round if you become a finalist via the forwarding service.

@flyingllama: I’d recommend you find some way to get a math/science recommend. If you don’t know your math teacher too well, MIT is likely not a good fit. :)

Actually I want to ask for your opinions…

My situation is weird with MIT, and I don’t know if I should rank them. What do you guys think?

Note: I would have to self-study Biology E for October because of their SAT science requirement, so I want to know if it’s worth all that studying in what is already going to be a hectic few months.

That’s transcript-only stuff. I don’t really know my math/science teachers so no Recs from them. Also no special “excuse” notes from any counselors about 9th or 10th grade, so I would have to explain the stuff myself.

This looks bad doesn’t it? If you want more stats on me, like GPA, [here’s a link to my chance thread](http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/massachusetts-institute-technology/753731-do-you-think-ill-get-into-mit.html).

Again, I want to know if it will be worth spending so much time to study Biology E. MIT is an amazing school in definitely in my top 3, but I might have to focus on places with better chances…

I would major in Management if I got in (I love the business of tech).

Get a Chem recommend, since I’m pretty sure no recommend will hurt you even more. You should do Bio E and Math 2 for SAT 2s and study really hard as well. Get scores that show that your story is true.

K thanks, but honestly I don’t really know the chem teacher. It was a year ago and for a class 8 weeks long… He even mis-reported my grade as a C at first, and I had a few headaches getting it fixed with the administration lol

I know my Psych/History teachers much better; they’ll give better recs and I wouldn’t want to jeopardize my other schools for MIT, you know what I mean? I really don’t know which to choose

Thanks for the link, Alex.

@flyingllama, I understand what you’re saying. What if you use the psych/history teacher recs for QB and then if you become a finalist and rank MIT, send the chem teacher rec to them specifically? I’m pretty sure that when you’re notified of finalist status, you have to send in the additional info anyway, you know, the stuff each school specifically requests. In the meantime, I’d work on somehow getting close to that chem teacher. Does he sponsor any chemistry clubs or anything?
