National french exam?

I placed in the nation, but I don't know what number yet.

The way the test is given, everyone are winners. 1st place (Usually 1 less than a perfect 60), 2nd place (58), third place (57), fourth place (56)...top ten places in the nation compromises of over hundreds of people. For example, Everyone who gets 58 get 2nd place, and on and on.

Oh, ok. I think I should definitely place, then. That's kinda cool :)

I'm so happy for myself, since I guessed on the gender of this one word, and when I looked it up, I'd guessed right :p

Wait... moralityjustice, you mean nobody ever gets 60/60??

I know there were no perfects in New Jersey last year. My friend was third. She got flown down to the national awards thing where she got a free folder.

I think the test was pretty good. I think I may have placed in the top 10. A couple of the listening questions were pretty tricky, and the passage about bread was iffy, too.

My school does the NFE (and NSE/NLE), too, and as far as I've heard, the tests are on the easy side. That's not to say that I find it easy. My scores follow a downward trend, since the higher level exams tend to deviate more from my school's French curriculum. I'm taking two French classes next year, so maybe I'll ace the level V one. (:

I took the leven IV this year. I didn't think it was particularly difficult, but it was tricky. I hope I placed. But it really doesn't matter if I don't.

Are people still taking the test? Or is it ok for us to go over the answers for the questions that were on there?

Anybody know when we get results??

How do you register for this if your teacher's too cheap to pay the fees and such?

What do you guys use to study by the way?

ha, we had to pay the fees ourselves. $10 each. But I have no idea how you'd go about registering yourself.

My teacher had a couple old test booklets to look at, so that's how I studied. I went through one or two of them, and even did the listening on one. And she also had the answers so we could check.

I see. I'll just talk to my teacher....

Anyway, what exam should I take if I've only done up to French 2? Also, what stops people who are REALLY GOOD at French from taking the lower level exams? Thanks.

It's WAYYYY easier than AP or SAT II.

I don't know what I got yet, but I took it. I probaly messed it up because a teacher and a student got in a loud argument during the listening section...

cooljoe - it's only once a year. I don't think you can register unless your teacher participates in the National Association of Teachers of French, which administers the test.

It's not a big deal. Colleges really don't care about this one; there's no prize money or anything like that. If you do REALLY well you could mention it but I kind of doubt it would be taken that seriously.

What are some good language exams? I'm much better at Spanish though, and I'd really like to show that I have a passion for languages (which I really do).

I don't know of any equivalent exam for other languages... this is just a random thing the French teacher association thought of :-P

So...... the results are out.

I'm quite disappointed, personally. I thought I'd done much better :(

My sophomore friend (level 3) got 9th in the nation. My teacher's going to tell us how we did tomorrow.

In the nation? My teacher only posted state-wide. Which is tough for me, living in CA.

It's tough for us, too, living in NJ. =P

How do you suppose the curve was? 0 wrong for 1st place?
