So I am an NHRP person and Fordham sent me a letter saying I'd be considered for a full ride if I am in the top 5% of the applicants. Being interested in Fordham, I am happy.

I want to know what "top 5%" of applicants has been for Fordham in the past years. Does anyone know? Does anyone know any NHRP that got a full ride?

Well, being in the top 5% of applicants is tough. I’m a freshmen at Fordham, and my friend got $35,000 a year for the National Merit Hispanic Scholarship since he’s half Peruvian, but he wasn’t in the top 5%, so even if you aren’t you can get a huge scholarship so don’t worry. I wasn’t even in the top 10% of applicants and I was in the top 7% of my graduating class, had a 2040 SAT score and tons of extra curricular activites and awards.

Another question: Apparently I am also a National Merit Commended scholar. Do I send a copy of my diploma/letter of commendation to Fordham? I know you have to do that for Boston University.

I am currently a Freshman at Fordham and I received the NHRP full scholarship. My senior year I was close to the top 10%, but not in it, but I still received the scholarship offer and I know several other kids here who were in the same position as me. When I asked Fordham about it they told me the top 5 or 10% requirement is just a benchmark. Basically, just make sure they you have high SAT scores, over 2000, mine were 2100 and make sure they you maintain high grades for your first semester senior year. Hope this helps
