national honor society? sounds...dumb

You sell your soul into servitude

Narcissa was fizix’s idol. I think she is a worthy poster

im almost positive you went to my high school. (aahs?) those rules are too dumb and familiar sounding haha.

i didnt join either… for pretty much the exact same reasons. all anyone cared about was how many hours they had and how to look good for college. and they’re a bunch of hypocrites- i know several that cheat all the time… honor, my left ass cheek…

National Honor Society is a well-respected and at my school a selective student organization. There are many benefits of membership especially if you are apart of its leadership.

I am cleaning and picking up trash in school for NHS.
Whoever said that NHS = school’s servant is right.

Haha that’s what I had to do last year XD

But… from what I’m hearing from here, our school’s NHS seems much more on point…

Personally, I think it’s a waste of time. I’ve gotten an invite every year (senior with a 3.89), and every year I’ve ignored it. Well this year I actually filled out and turned in the application, but that’s as far as it went.

As a freshman, I decided to take on French Club (and French as a language), and have been it in ever since. Last year I was the President.

To me, and like a lot of people have said, it just sounds like one of those “elitist” organizations, dedicated to helping padding a college app. But you don’t need it.

I’ve done 170 hours of community service by myself, and let me tell you. Those hours were probably more fun and more rewarding than any NHS “number crunching” volunteer activity probably has ever been.

As long as you have the grades, the ambition, and the motivation to work hard, you don’t need this bs lol.

I just got an application a few weeks back and ignored it. Not only does National Honor Society have varying standards for every high school in the nation, it is unnecessary everywhere. Like I told every kid in my honors or AP class, that has got mad at me, or were shocked/offended to my answer for applying, “What would make me look different than any other college applicant?”. Even if I was president of the club, there will still be 100s of other Presidents. Also, my brother went to the same high school as me, applied and got accepted. He told me what they do: NOTHING. They all lie about their hours and do nothing collectively as a club. It honestly is so not worth it. Also, the application they gave us was a bit ridiculous, not only did half of the school get it, it asked for activities (i.e. sports, clubs, major accomplishments), community activities, work experience, and leadership positions. EVERYONE i know that actually applied lied on their applications (some of them asked teachers for ideas whom also told them to lie)…foreshadowing what they will be doing in the club.
