I'm a Senior. Is there any reason to join? I didn't even apply and I got in -_- It seems like all they do is get bossed into doing lame community service things.

For some people NHS is worthwhile. It can suck up your time, though. Also, if you’re applying to HYPSM-type schools, I’m sure that not being in NHS wouldn’t matter. After all, all applicants to those types of schools should be of NHS-caliber, anyway.

^ The OP is a senior. I don’t see any reason.

considering im out of school next friday, a week in nhs wouldnt be worth anything

NHS for 2 minutes? I don’t see the point, plus no one is impressed by NHS. It’s the most pointless club out there, or one of them.

OP, if your NHS is known for a lack of applications and ‘lame community service’ then it won’t help you in any way, shape or form. And are you a rising senior or an actual senior? Why would anyone bother joining something the last full month of high school anyway?

I’m an actual senior.

That was my question. It sounds like the tendrils of NHS do not extend beyond highschool? I don’t get any sort of scholarships or any sort of useful network? I’m rather clueless about NHS.

NHS doesn’t mean much to colleges, well top-tier colleges.
