Do all national merit finalists receive $30,000? I only received $23,000.
I received $30,000 per year.
The actual wording on their website says “up to” $30k.
Do you know how they determine if you get that “up to” amount?
I have never seen on this site anybody getting less than the max - did you meet the requirements/deadline - from their website (is the $23,000 listed as NMF or just merit award which will be replaced by NMF after the award is made?)
Students who are admitted to Northeastern and are recognized as National Merit Finalists* or National Hispanic Recognition Program Scholars** will receive up to a $30,000 merit-based award, and may also be eligible for financial aid.
Northeastern National Scholarships replace any Dean’s, Excellence, Connections, or International Scholars awards and may result in a change to previously awarded Northeastern University Grant funds.
*National Merit Finalist Deadline:
In order to be eligible for these Northeastern scholarships, National Merit Finalists must be U.S. citizens or documented permanent residents, admitted to Northeastern and should designate Northeastern University as their college choice to the National Merit Scholarship Corporation(NMSC) by April 4, 2016. We will award our first group of scholarships in early March to students who were admitted Early Action or Early Decision.
I met the deadline and put Northeastern as my first choice a good amount of time before April 4. It also says Northeastern National Merit Scholarship on the aid letter.
Did you also get a grant for &7k?
Contact the financial aid office for clarification. They’ll be able to provide you with a more official answer than we can.
