I had a 227 and haven't received anything from National Merit either...

I'm almost certain that I read somewhere that they notify you sometime early in senior year. I'm probably wrong, though.

They do notify you of whether you're a Semi-Finalist OR Commended at the end of September of your senior year. This letter is just to inform you that you're in the top 50,000, which you definitely are.

:)

if anyone wants to know, i got a 204 and got the letter. There were some kids in my school who got a 202 and did not get the letter so i'm guessing the commended cutoff is 203.

Cut-off is 202 this year. If people with a 202 or above haven't gotten the letter yet, they will, unless they are otherwise disqualified.

no i think the cut off is 203 because kids who got a 202 in my school didn't get it

I called the National Merit office today. 202 is the word from them.

thank god for my 206... still ****ed bout the 76 math tho...

Wow... even with the level set at 202, its still pretty high. I hope that the NM cutoffs for Semifinalist dont continue that trend...

:)

They probably will. The 202 level is only up 1 point from last year, though, so I'd guess that state levels will be in the +0-2 point range.

My friend who got a 220 received a letter, but no news for me. I have a 209, not semi-finalist but commended. I should get a letter right?

Yes you should, for sure, as long as you're a Junior and fit all the other requirements...
