National Merit Presidential Scholars

Yes you will!

I am a trustee scholar this year, and they did tell us we had some special orientation this year. Also, USC has changed their policy and is no longer giving all national merit finalists the half tuition presidential scholarship. Only those selected to fly up for the interview were considered for the scholarship.

bbcourt, when USC was selecting candidates for the interviews for Trustee / Presidents scholarships, THEY did not KNOW which applicants would be NMF’s. That information comes out mid Feb, which is after the decisions of whom to invite to interview are made. They learn which finalists have chosen USC from NMSF in JUne, when they cross check the list of students who have accepted enrollment at USC with NMSF’s final first choice list. So I seriously doubt there has been a change of policy. Do you have something in writing from USC about this?
I think you are mixing up the Presidential scholarships [ which required an interview] and the NMF scholarships, possibly because they are both 1/2 tuition scholarships.

@bbcourt,
Is there official communication or they informed your group but not yet release in USC website ? Kind of big implication and different from all the NMF + 1st selection = 1/2 tuition statements in related USC website.

There has been no change in the 1/2 tuition National Merit Scholarship.

@Georgia Girl.
Thanks for clarification.

"There has been no change in the 1/2 tuition National Merit Scholarship. "
I didn’t think there had been- lots of people would have heard about it if it were true.
