I would call your D’s guidance counselor immediately, today is the postmark deadline for returning the Semi-finalist application, which needs an essay. If you miss this deadline you are OUT of the competition. We are in Michigan also and our packet arrived at the school before the 1st day of classes.</p>

<p>Anyone hearing about FINALIST status yet? I thought the schools were to be notified by Feb 1 and the semifinalist to be notified by Feb 8?</p>

<p>We are waiting also. Talked to the principal last week and she said she would let me know. At this point D’s letter to home will probably come first.</p>
