fencingking, don't worry! It might be on the way. I got my $2500 scholarship offer today, and I live in California. The offer date on the letter is March 22, which was only 2 days ago.

I'm wondering how they determine who gets the one-time $2500 scholarships vs. the college-sponsored ones... I would have liked a four-year renewable scholarship. But who am I to complain about free money?

I was reading over the letter again and I was wondering... can the $2500 scholarship be used at pretty much any college? For example, one of the UC's, even though they don't sponsor National Merit Scholarships?

I received a National Merit corporate-based scholarship of $4000 annually for 4 years through my mother's company and found out about it this week. Hope that information is helpful for everyone who's still waiting for responses.

The $2500 scholarship is just like most other scholarships--the National Merit Corporation will send a check to the school's finaid office.
The UCs just decided to not sponsor their own National Merit Scholarships about 2 years ago, but the ones funded by the National Merit Corporation and the corporate scholarships are still valid.

Sorry to BUMP this up, but has anyone heard anything from the National Merit SPECIAL Scholarships (the scholarships from a parent's corporation for non-finalists)?

Thanks. Referring to last year's scholarships, it looks like the third week of March is when people were notified. I guess I'm just really anxious!

We have not heard anything from our corporate sponsor either through NM. My son is also a NMF and listed a sponsoring school... could this be the delay? has anyone else done this? Thanks
