I'm really worried about whethere I can become a National Merit Finalist or not, so I'm asking for everyone's opinions.

I got a 232 on the PSAT.

However, I only got a 2130 on the SAT.

PSAT - CR - 78 M - 74 W - 80
SAT - CR- 680 M -730 W- 720

I'm assuming I'll get semi-finalist at least because they only look at the SAT score, but what about finalist? Do I have a chance? My rank is 5/523 and my weighted GPA is 106.8755. Please help, as I'm beginning to worry.

For semi-finalist status, they only look at the PSAT score. For finalist, they look at your grades, SAT scores, EC's, and a recommendation from your guidance counselors. About 16,000 make semi-finalist, and 15,000 make finalist. Quite frankly, I think you'll make Finalist pretty easily. Just raise your SAT score and you'll be fine!

you'll be fine, I got it this year with a much lower GPA (3.6ish unweighted, almost 4.1 weighted, ranked like 30), and just slightly higher SAT's (2160)

Don't worry about the finalist ranking. Like state above, its 15 out of 16 semifinalists make finalist ranking. You'll be fine. Plus, take the SATs again, with PSAT scores that high, you should be able to get alot higher.

I hear you have to REALLY bomb the SAT to screw up finalist status. I mean in some states a 213 PSAT (equivalent to your SAT) gets them to Semi-finalist. You don't have to raise your SAT scores, you are in no matter what.
