So just like everyone else in this forum I received an ASU letter today (offering?) a full ride scholarship. I won't be notified until next year if I am a national achievement finalist. In the letter it say it is for students who are national merit FINALISTS, national hispanic scholars or national achievement SCHOLARS. So what is the difference between a finalist and a scholar? Am I a scholar because I am part of the program or do I have to be a finalist? It only specifies finalists for the national merit people, not the national achievement so I was curious on what the difference is...

Is the ASU National Scholars award a “full ride” for OOS students? I think it’s a full tuition scholarship, unless something has changed.

it says in my letter a full out of state tuition and mandatory student and academic college fees

Ok…so that’s not a full ride. That’s full tuition plus fees.

A full ride includes housing, meal plan and books.

You might also consider applying to Bama. They give more…including housing for frosh year. Plus…$1k per year, study abroad money, plus an iPad 3 (or whatever the latest is)

A scholar is one that has been given a scholarship for national status.
