National Scholastic Art and Writing Awards!

I stayed in Roosevelt hotel last Feb for a weekend and it is just fine.
Only one thing: the people there are so busy and take time to ask questions but I don’t really need to talk to them.
I bit through priceline and the price is 100$ per night plus 24$ priceline’s charge. Every time, I go to nyc, I always bit but never lover the ranking star than three.

forgot to say:
Congrats!

Thanks loveblue.

We had a fun time at the gala but we couldn’t even spot our son on the stage. He enjoyed being with all the other artsy kids, but really, it isn’t that big a deal. Nice, but we were able to drive and spent just one night there. Our son stayed a second night with a friend at the Roosevelt (not bad hotel, just a little old fashioned) and came home on a bus. We live close by and I would’t have paid for the trip to NY if we had had to fly unless we managed to combine it with a family vacation, visiting colleges/art schools, or something else. An alternative is to send the student alone. You may be able to get a cheap ticket to Newark and have the student take a train into manhattan. There is at least one youth hostel that kids stay at from our area. Safe and clean. If you are interested I will get the information. I think most 16-17 year olds can handle this.

My daughter is only 14 and we are from the west coast. Now I kind of regret having booked the flight so soon. I read some reviews about the Roosevelt saying the rooms are too small and you can hear everything from the next room. Since I am a super light sleeper I am a bit concerned, plus the hotel seems to be pretty expensive and crowded anyway. I am thinking of finding one near the Parsons school. I am leaving 6/3 evening and I will need a place to store the luggage for that day as well. A smaller hotel may have better services?

when I stay at Roosevelt, it is quiet and clean. The room is nice, yes it is small. The small part didn’t bother me.
I don’t see a problem of store luggage there at all. A little bit of waiting time and that is not too bad.
If I were you, i would choose to attend, I think it is a big for her. She won the way to come. You can have a great time with her to tour the city also.

If you choose a nice area to bit, the price is not bad. I stayed in nyc many times and it is very easy to bit.
