national society of collegiate scholars

I got an invitation to join this society. Are there a lot of benefits in joining?

No.

The only one worth joining is Phi Beta Kappa. Maybe Golden Key if you plan to be a very active member.

^^hahah yeaaa Phi Beta Kappa would definitely be one worth joining, if invited.

Don’t think the one OP mention’s really holds a lot of weight; maybe I’m wrong…

It was founded in 1994 (not a whole lot of tradition there). I would say no.

I don’t know if I should join PBK. I mean, you just pay them your $$ and probably never hear from them again, other than those useless pamphlet they send you once in a while. What’s the point?

^^It looks EXCELLENT on a resume, something you can’t say if you don’t join (because many employers/grad schools call PBK and ask about your membership in it). I would definitely advise going through with it, if possible.
