<p>so i received a letter from the National Society of High School Scholars in the mail today asking me to join their society. It claims to only recruit top academic students with over 3.5 gpa. </p>

<p>I dont mind paying the membership fee. i just want to know whether faxing in this invitation to Yale would help me in any way in the application process this late in the game. </p>

<p>has anyone received this invitation? is this legit? does it help at all in college admissions??</p>

<p>From what I understand, the honor carries negligible prestige at top schools; I wouldn’t bother sending it in. Most decisions have likely already been made anyways.</p>

<p>No, it won’t help, and don’t pay to join. Like many similar organizations, it’s a money-making operation only and will not impress Yale at all. If you do a search, you’ll find many threads on CC about it and similar companies.</p>
