National Writing Board/ The Concord Review

Has anyone submitted an essay to the National Writing Board and then had their score report forwarded to colleges? I was wondering how an admissions committee might take such a piece of information into account when considering an applicant.
Also...has anyone been featured in The Concord Review? If so, do you think it is a major hook in the admissions process? It sure seems like it would be.

i would like to know too :)

They accept only 8% of papers. Odds are that they won't pick yours.

My counselor mentioned this to me, but he stated it was extremely difficult to get published. You also have to pay $40 for a submission, which, I suppose is reasonable considering the weight of such an academic achievement, but still sort of "eh".
