Does being a Native American affect your admissions value at all.
What does it do for you, and tell me about AF. action in Chicago I dont live there...
thanks

I believe it helps tremendously at just about every college. I mean, taking your land, then building a college on it only to deny you admission would be pretty douche of them haha.

hahahah sounds like I am in luck, but, that all depends on whether or not Chicago still has affirmative action

its not called affirmative action but yess most top schools still treat urm's extra-specially

Are you affiliated with a specific tribe?

I have a feeling this "native American " is a liar. In one of his old threads, he apparently has a 34 ACT; in another, he has a 31 ACT; in his most recent thread, he has a perfect ACT score. In addition, this "native American" purportedly has 5's on all his AP exams.

Take a look at this thread of his:

"Ok guys I applied to Harvard, Yale, and Columbia...tell me I am not doomed. I am so worried. Heres an overview: Graduated high school at age 13 ranked 2 out of 1945 (this will screw me over). Went to a top ranked high school in the US. After that I got two bachelors degrees at my local university: in quantum mechanics, and in Biological theory. I wrote a book on the socio-economic problems in Ethiopia and how we should fix it: it was nominated but didn't win a pulitzer (they will not be pleased when they see i didnt get it!) I am fluent in German French Italian and English. I took a year to travel Europe. Now I am home and I am applying to these schools (I really regret taking that year off it will probably screw me over, but at least I wrote a descent essay on my experiences. My test scores ACT:36 SAT:1600 AP comp. gov.:5 Ap US GOV:5 AP bio:5 AP chem:5 AP eng. lit.:5 Ap Eng. Lang.:5 Ap psych.:5 AP US hist.:5 AP euro. Hist.:5 AP german:5 AP music th.:4 (this is what is going to screw me in the admissions process) AP micro. Econ:5 Ap macro.Econ:5. I know I am just average for the most part for kids who apply to the ivies, but, someone help me out here tell me what else I can do before time runs out! (Oh and I don't know if this will help or hurt but i didn't take math in high school because I got a 102% in Calculus in 8th grade. But I did do a lot of math when i was going for my Bachelors in quantum mechanins. Btw, I got a 4.0 in both my bachelors degrees so that might help a little."

Nobodyknows, would you kindly explain yourself and your reasons for littering the UChicago forum with lies? :) Sorry, I'm bored.

lol chen chen this is obviously a jokoe post so you didnt have to do this w hole thing

haha you can get BA in quantum mechanics?

ha ha jeeze chenchen you stalker...ok you got me. my quote that chenchen posted was a joke post highlighting the ridiculousness that some people on this forum will put themselves through only to stress themselves out even more. As for the ACT who is to say I did not retake the ACT several times? huh...also, who is to say i didn't post for a friend because he didn't have internet access at the time...ehh bub? Anyway, actually, I am Native American...Cherokee tribe to be specific(Georgia), I am currently awaiting the test confirmation from DNAtribes.com. I hope you guys didn't just put wrong info because you thought this was a joke thread...eesh...anyways thank! :)

oh and by the way MR. PERFECT CHENCHEN if my memory serves me right most of those posts were not even on the U of C forum...sheesh...

chenchen is an idiot lol, thats a pretty funny post nobodyknows, hehehe. I'd say according to that, you mighit--MIGHT-- get in... better pull up that perfect gpa :-)

haha I wish, I am working on pulling up my (real) far from perfect GPA, I had a terrible last semester (family issues), but, so far this semester all A+s (I wonder how all A+s would look instead of all A's) but, granted I am like only three and a half weeks in to the semester. The key I've learned is to take classes day by day. Anyway does anybody no about Chicago in particular as far as the native American thing goes? Also this is a little of topic, but, for supplemental materials, could I included research labs that I conduct independently under my chemistry teacher, or, does scientific research have to be with an accredited institution? whatever thanks people! :)

i did lab research in my highschool in a special "research course" and under supplemental materials sent in my abstract.

"chenchen is an idiot lol"

And you feel the need to resort to personal insults because? Whatever, I don't care.

I think your intelligent chenchec, I don't think many others would have been able to track down all of my past post and determine the differences like you did , that was way smooth. You definitely put me on the spot there. Anyways I am sure he did not mean it. Please don't be upset.

chenchen, i wasn't insulting your intelligence. However, I was trying to point out how you completely did not understand how incredibly sarcastic nobodyknows post was. Either that, or you're response to it

was so unbelievably sarcastic that I as too stupid to be on the uptake. However, as of this post, I am pretty sure you weren't being sarcastic. I'm going out on a limb here, but I think you were being pretty serious, and actually believed that was all true, and thought you were being impressively clever when you told us all you tracked down all of the OPs past posts, and found one that didn't add up.

This thread is a great example of how difficult it is to convey humor in an anonymous forum. Sadly, I believe that fun came here and died.
