I guess they can't elect Corbin A. McNeill, Jr. while he is on the Board of Trustees of the Alumni Association, but Corbin should be elected as soon as possible!!

McNeill is the retired Chairman and CEO of Exelon Corporation, formed in October 2000 by the merger of PECO Energy Company and Unicom Corporation. Prior to the merger Mr. McNeill was Chairman, President, and CEO of PECO Energy.

Mr. McNeill completed a 21-year career with the U.S. Navy in 1981 after serving as Commanding Officer of both the U.S.S. Tautog and of the Naval Nuclear Power School. His expertise in the utility and government industries is extensive. He joined the New York Power Authority as Resident Manager of the James A. Fitzpatrick Nuclear Power Plant in 1981 and subsequently was named Senior VP, Nuclear Generation. He then joined Public Service Electric and Gas Company (PSE&G) as VP, Nuclear in March 1985 and was named Senior VP, Nuclear in April 1987. In March 1988, Mr. McNeill joined PECO Energy as Executive VP, Nuclear. In April 1990, Mr. McNeill was elected President and CEO, and a Director of the Company. During his tenure as CEO, PECO Energy was recognized as "Utility of the Year" by the Edison Electric Institute. Mr. McNeill received his B.S. in 1962 from the U.S. Naval Academy and has completed graduate courses in business at the UC Berkeley and Syracuse University. He is a 1992 graduate of Stanford University's Executive Management Program. Mr. McNeill was awarded an honorary Doctor of Science degree by Drexel University in 2000. He has also received awards from the World Nuclear Association, the American Society of Mechanical Engineering, the American Nuclear Society and the Nuclear Energy Institute.

McNeill has been a driving force in many major industry developments in recent years amid the deregulation of the nation’s electricity markets. He was at the forefront of industry consolidation, moving swiftly to acquire nuclear power plants and investing in new nuclear technology. He pioneered the management of refueling outages with efficiencies, now incorporated industrywide, that have dramatically reduced outage times and fostered record levels of electricity production the past two years. He also is among a group of industry executives who have pushed the industry aggressively toward the expeditious extension of power plant operating licenses for an additional 20 years.

The expansion of the use of nuclear energy for peaceful purposes is, again, being rekindled in the United States, in large part, because of Corbin’s leadership, experience and hard work. He is a true visionary.

McNeill has also personlly endowed a Chair in the engineering department at the Academy.

Corbin McNeill for Distinguished Graduate!!!!!
