NC Governor's School 2021

I’m currently working on my application for Governor’s School and was wondering about a few things. Does anyone know how the process works? Like once I’m nominated by my school does that mean that I’m automatically competing at the state level or do I have to compete at the district level as well? I was also wondering if out of the four academic disciplines (English, social science, math, or natural science) if there’s one discipline that’s less competitive than another? Thanks!

Also feel free to use this thread to ask questions you might have about nc governor’s school as well!

Personally, my public school just checked my eligibility and sent it to the district (county) level. I recently received a letter from my school district informing me that they have sent my application to the state level. If your school system/district nominates you, there is about a 35-40% acceptance rate to pass the state level.

I hope this thread gets as much noise as the one did last year! I can’t wait to hear about everyone’s experiences.
