Volunteer/charity work
I’m just confused overall because i’ve had friends from my school with lower stats and no extracurriculars get in so i was wondering if they can only accept so many early action or if something was just not good about my application and i wanted to see if anyone was in the same boat as me
kinda similar stats and got deferred im the same boat tbh
maybe it depends on ur major
what major did u apply as
I applied as a biology major
I applied as business
Im suprised I didnt get in from this thread im observing that almost all oos ppl got in and many people instate get deferred. Maybe there was a influx in applications and thats why they deferred so many people.
The RD pool is most often less competitive than EA so hoping for the best is probably the only option at this point.
Accepted, Instate. Poli Sci major. Test Optional, 4.00/4.40. 7Aps, 18 honor classes, various club and organization leadership positions, participating in various community organizations, moderate amount of community service. Currently holding a job as well.
I’m sorry to hear that you were deferred, but I am optimistic that you’ll get in for the RD round! Best of luck with everything, I know that you have got this!!
Polisci majors unite!!! :))
My son was accepted in state as well, with almost identical stats.
Congratulations to all admitted. It looks like they only admitted or deferred, did anyone get denied in this round?
Of those admitted, who know they are definitely committing to NCS.
That’s surprising. Such a high SAT. Maybe it is b/c of your major. My daughter was admitted to Business OOS but only with a 1400 SAT. Her GPA was 4.75 weighted. She is not sure she will go to NCSU but I’m thinking maybe your major is really tough to get into?
Same! Also admitted from out of state but need to know financials!
I’d say it’s very likely my daughter goes to NCSU - she’s still waiting to hear from two others in Feb but if I had to bet, I’d say it’s State for her. She is OOS (MA), business and didn’t send test scores (but high GPA).
Haven’t heard of any rejections, only deferrals (which holds true for her friends at a wide range of schools)
I had the AED message and got accepted- just leaving this reply here so people in the future can go back to this thread and know the AED message is likely correct. Instate, wake county.
A few classmates of mine got rejected, but they knew when applying it was a reach for them!
Waiting on UNC, VT, FSU & UGA (deferred EA). For anything outside N.C., merit awards will matter. She already received merit from U of S.C., UTK and App State. NC State is probably in the top 3.
I’m hearing about lots of surprising deferrals this year from many schools. I think a lot will get in from the lists. Don’t give up hope!
Do you have lots of activities and course rigor?
Does anyone know how many people applied this year ?
Also is everyone just getting deferred? any rejections?
because if everyone who didn’t get accepted got deferred then that might be concerning.
Also will a LOCI help ? What should I do other than wait ?
Also can I write in my LOCI that I will enroll if accepted ?
Check our Sara Harberson’s blog on deferments. Very good advice.
I was deferred. 1430 SAT and 32 ACT In-State. I have all the same questions you do.
