So it’s nearing the day of national college decision day and I still have no idea which college to chose. I would like to pursue Chemistry but I’ve heard that Chemical engineering has better job aspects which is what I applied for State. I know for certain that I would not be going on the pre-med track or anything medical period. I would like to do research so if anyone could give me ideas for careers in Chemistry. I’m also definitely going to grad school. As for campuses, I definitely prefer State’s modern buildings versus UNC’s historic ones but I feel like I would fit better as a person with UNC. Surprisingly, State was a lot more generous with their FA.
Congrats on acceptance. Both hard schools and programs to get into. Yes, I would think the job prospects in ChemE are better and pay more. My son is a ChemE grad from State and had several good offers. One of the huge advantages of engineering is that most people only need a 4 year degree, but you don’t seemed concerned about that. One option you could also consider is double major in ChemE and chemistry or undergrad in ChemE and grad school chemistry, so you’ve got both ends covered.
Good Luck!
