I'm in college now (not at ND, Georgetown, or BC), so this is a rather irrelevant question to me personally, but still something I find interesting.

My brother goes to Notre Dame, and I saw that 83% of their student body is Catholic (!). 83 percent! That's really high.

I looked up the percentage of students that were Catholic at Boston College (70%) and Georgetown (51%).

I guess I'm a little bit surprised by those numbers.

Does anyone know if it helps to be Catholic when applying to a school like Notre Dame or Boston College?
