Need a voice of reason to help me out (ASU v. UNC-CH)

I'll just tell the whole story so nothing gets missed.

ASU - I absolutely love the campus and the area. Its beautiful and I've heard plenty of great things about it from my friends who attend there. I'd wish it had a little more city life, but c'est la vie. I like rock climbing and need to be more active outdoors, so I think ASU will do the job in that respect. However, it is a second-rate school compared to Duke and UNC and its name doesn't carry a lot of weight.

UNC - Amazing school and decent city life, decent people from what I've heard. School carries weight and is a legitimate name. One of the best schools in NC.

General facts - I'm in NC. Done a crap-ton of college classes and the only ones that will accept them are state schools, so I can't go to Georgetown or Harvard, even though I have the scores for them. 4.88 GPA before my 6 AP classes from this year are counted in, first in class, first in school test scores (2030 SAT), 50+ college hours.

Basically, what I'm asking is, do graduate schools like Georgetown's look at the credibility of the school your coming from? Should I give up the App State lifestyle for a more legitimate degree from UNC? I'm kinda flustered right now and don't know where I should go. I don't LOVE UNC, but I just don't wanna look like a retard coming from App, and, who knows, maybe I'm wrong and living in Boone isn't all that it's cracked up to be. I love going to shows and seeing live music, and it seems like the CH/Raleigh area is more kind to that than plain ol' Boone.

My first world of advice is to never use the r— word.
Unless you are applying to college as a transfer student, you might consider not letting your college credits stand in the way of attending the college of your choice. If you really want to attend a school like Harvard, get accepted, and can afford it, it doesn’t make sense not to go.
I believe a degree from UNC would be more recognized by graduate programs. It’s a top ranked university that is renown. ASU is a good school, and it is certainly possible to attend a grad school program after graduation, but it does not have the reputation of UNC.
Are you a rising senior? If you have not applied or been accepted into either of these schools then you don’t have to choose. The only decision you need to make now is where to apply. Do not eliminate a school at this point. Apply to the schools you are considering and can afford- including UNC and ASU. This time, next year, you will be able to choose between the options you have.

Well college hours absolutely matter to me because I worked insanely hard during high school to take those classes and 50+ hours = all my general ed at a state school. If I go to Harvard, then I lose all what I worked for and 2 years of my life.

Then apply in state, but apply to both UNC and ASU. Then you’ll have time to look at the pros and cons of each and decide next year. If you have a certain program in mind, you can ask faculty at each about what graduate schools the students are accepted at.
