Need advice about recs!!

Yeah so I asked my science and french teachers to write college recs for me which they did gladly and I kept in touch with them too.

But as for my English teacher, she was on medical leave for the end of the last school year so whoever wanted a recommendation had to write their name down and she will do it over the summer.

Since the school year started, I always tried to find time to talk her about it during September and October because I thought she might not write it for me, but she was never in her class. So after a while, I just didnt do anything but I did say hi to her in the hallways.

But now seeing that she actually submitted her recommendation, I feel like a jerk for never saying anything to her. So what I should do now when I go to talk to her? Im definitely giving her a card but idk if I should apologize and what should I say when I apologize.

Write a lovely thank you card. You can tie it in to the holiday season and why she’s important in your life. Telling her the difference she made in your education will certainly bridge any awkward hallway greetings.

Agree with the previous. If you can, figure out when her off periods are and see if you can find some time to sneak in and see her, or email her and ask her when she could meet with you briefly so that you can give her the card and talk about how your year is going.
