Alright well I'm not doing so well for my freshman year apparently. I thought it was mainly first quarter, but apparently this quarter I am doing even worse.

First quarter I got a 2.2 in Psych 101, 3.1 in CSE 142, and 3.3 in Math 125. I got a 3.5 in an Early Fall Start class so my average GPA turned out to be around a 3.0.

This quarter I am taking CSE 143, MUSIC 116, and Math 126. I did really poorly on all my midterms somehow and I am scared because I don't know if I have what it takes to get into the majors I want (most likely CSE/Informatics). I am pretty sure I can still pull off maybe a 3.0-3.3 but thats the best case scenario.

I am also considering making MUSIC a S/NS option because apparently this midterm pretty much determined half of my grade and it didn't work out. Does anyone know how? And how will this affect admissions?

A little surprised that you got a 2.2 in Psych but at least you did better in your pre-req classes. For Music 116 I heard that it’s a tough class. I guess it’s okay if you make it S/NS but just make sure you get a S. Next time take Music 185, which is a much easier 2 credit VLPA class. It is one class a week and if you get 58/70 in that class and attend 4 concerts at Meany Hall you get a 4.0.
