Need good safetey/mid-range schools

I APOLOGIZE FOR THE CAPS ATTACK, but I am dreading the possibility of being rejected by all my schools. I am already in to one super-safety, but I want to pick up a few more good schools that I have a good chance of getting into.

The three schools I have applied to are Rice, Emory, and Wash U.
I am interested in Science and/or Engineering
SAT: 2270
GPA: UW: circa 3.5
4 AP's, 11 Honors, Private School

Lots of ECs that are good, notably
Eagle Scout
4 year crew (3 year varsity boat)
Student Council
All State Choir 2 of 2 years
NMSF
and others that i don't want to say lest I be recognized somehow. I know there are thousands of applications like this, but let's just say I watched one too many spy movies.

And if anybody happens to come by this that could chance me at Rice, Emory, or Wash U, that would also greatly be appreciated. Thanks all!

You should be able to get into RPI, URochester, Georgia Tech pretty easily.

I would add Case Western to your list as a good match/safety.

Tufts; Lehigh.

The schools on your list are all fairly competitive and, while your SAT score is in the right range, your GPA is a bit on the low side. That means that you probably won't stand out among applicants to these schools.

So if you haven't done it already you should apply to at least one public university in your state that has good science and engineering programs. Not just a super-safety but a school that has good programs, especially if there is an honors program, because you might qualify for that.

Among other private schools consider Tulane, Cincinnatti, Louisville, and Pitt

I disagree. I think you will be fine at all three. That being said, WashU does some interesting stuff sometimes...and skips over kids with very high SATs' and dips lower in the pool. But otherwise, you are fine. Good luck.

^^Louisville is public, not private (since 1970).

Villanova (good for engineerng)

thanks everybody!
