Need help before I declare

Hey you guys, I just got into my top choice school (Winthrop University), and I have to go to orientation next week where we get to pick our majors. I originally wanted to do Graphic Design, but in that major, freshman year only consists of ACAD (a required orientation/discussion course for freshman) and Writing 101 in addition to all the art classes. I am scared since I don’t know if Graphic Design is the best career for me to pursue, and without all the other math classes, history, etc. freshman year, ill be behind a year if I decide to change my major.

The other thing is that I want to go into a career that I love, but I’ve heard that being a graphic designer is not very profitable, and I have no idea what majors deal with art and design, are profitable, and aren’t math intensive. Should I stick with art,do buisness like everyone else or go in undecided freshman year? Or if you have another suggestion on a major thats not math intensive, I will definately check it out.

Thanks

Graphic design isn't so bad, and it's somewhat profitable (like in the future you could help with the production of video games and such) So, if you like art, and want to do Graphic Design, go for it!

Do you have to choose your major already or can you change it later on?
