Need help finding a college for me!

Well I am on the college hunt and haven't realy found the right place for me yet. I currently live in florida but want to go up north. Maybe close to NYC or Chicago.... somewhere where the business environment is strong. I have a 3.8 W and a 1300 on my SATs. I have held leadership in my school's business club for over 2 years and have 100 hours of service. I am looking for schools around $20,000 a year in total. Feel free to throw any schools at me that might interest me. Thanks for your time!!!

I would look at SUNY Stony Brook. Very good state school located on Long Island. Train station on/near campus which takes you into the city. This is probably your best best as the State University of NY system will provide you with a very good education at a very good price. Another school that may be worth a look is Manhattan College. Good school located in a nice section of the Bronx (Riverdale). Is pretty well known for its engineering and the business program is most likely pretty good as well. Manhattan will cost you more than Stony but not near as much as some of the other schools in the area. Pace is a good business school and they have 2 campuses (one in the city and one in the suburbs). It is pretty expensive though and I don't know how they are with financial aid.

Chicago economics, northwestern, columbia, fordham, pace, UIUC

Chicago, Northwestern, and Columbia would probably be out of reach with the OP's SAT scores. UIUC may be too rural and isolated.

Fordham sounds like a good fit though. And Pace.

American University is another possibility to look at, as well as UMD. The Washington DC metro really is a thriving place for business.

If you only have 20K per year to work with, about your only option are your state schools. There are a few low cost private colleges, but most are small, and not in a good business environment (Grove City College comes to mind). If you have the 20K, you probably are not eligible for need-based aid. You may be able to get some merit aid from smaller schools. Look at Knox, look at schools that need more men (Goucher). But really, to get merit aid, you will have to compromise on location. Look carefully at all of your state schools. They are your best option. Going to a public university as an out-of-state student will usually exceed the 20K.
