Need help making transfer decision

So I have a couple choices on which school to transfer to and I really need some help making this decision. My background pretty much consists of me making a bad first decision and trying to make up for it. I went to a small liberal arts college that ended up being a horrible environment for me and my grades showed it. I got out with a 1.7 went to a community college and got my grades way up. I currently have a 2.7 with a massive upswing and I go to the best cc in the state so I hope that helps.

Choice #1: University of Houston
University of Houston would be one of my options because the amount of people I know there. I have heard good things from them and they all say it is a pretty good school and a lot of fun. My monetary situation would be good ok there and I think I would continue to excel at that school. I would transfer there for Fall 2010

Choice #2: Illinois State University
Illinois state seems like a great school, I have heard many good things about there business department and it seems like it would be a great fit. Money wise I would be in a great situation but I don't know anyone there, which might suck for awhile but I imagine it's easy to make friends there. I would not transfer there until spring 2011.

Choice #3: University of Illinois at Chicago
UIC is a school that I think would give me the best education. I have heard great things like top 25 in accounting and top 30 in finance about the school and I think I would do great there. I would also love to live in the city of Chicago. I also don't know many people here but I would think it would be easy to meet people in Chicago. My money situation would be great there but I would not be able to transfer there until Fall 2011.

Thanks everyone for reading and please give me some helpful advice as I really do need it right now. Also will a 2.7 get me into UIC? I may have it up to a 2.9-3.0 by then and I would also be transfering there as a 2nd sem Junior. I am a Sop right now.

Wait, so you need help deciding where to apply? Why not all three?

Yeah what are you asking? You seem to have narrowed down your list to 3 schools, apply to all of them.

Which state are you a resident of, Illinois or Texas or neither?

Which of these can you afford?

Sorry I wasn’t very clear enough. I am a resident of Illinois but paying for the schools won’t be a huge issue. I am asking assuming I get in to all of them, which one do you guys recommend.

From what you said in your original post, it seems like you would be applying to all these schools at different times. I’m not really sure what you’re asking still.

I’m asking if I get into U of H should I settle and go there or should I wait and try for UIC? Also which situation out of the three would you guys think is better. I’m sorry I didn’t make this very clear.

I think it really depends on how desperate you are to transfer out.

One thing that doesn’t make sense and I think is confusing:

If you’re transferring for this fall, it means you’ve already been accepted, but then you say:

I guess my question is, why can’t you apply for all of them at once, for either spring 2011 or fall 2011?

I have just gotten into U of H but I was going to wait and stay at my cc another semester and get my grades up a little bit more and see if I can’t get into UIC. The problem with that would be I wouldn’t be able to apply until fall 2011 because of deadlines and such. Illinois State wouldn’t have that problem.

My apoligies for making this so difficult

Why don’t you just stay put for now, and apply for transfer to all three at the same time? Then if you are admitted to all three you can choose the one you really want.

Unless of course you hate where you are now, and just want OUT. In which case I suggest you head to U of H and don’t look back.
