Please help me decide if I should transfer!!

Currently I'm a freshman at a private liberal-arts school. I don't feel like I've found my niche here, and the environment just isn't right for me. I believe I'd do much better at a bigger public school. I've been accepted to the University of Illinois (urbana-champaign) but the problem is, it's significantly more expensive than what I'm paying here. At UIUC, I'd probably graduate with about $50,000 in debt, not including loan interest. Here, it would be around $30,000.
The reasons I want to go to UIUC are: 1) it's a lot bigger, 2) there are many more student clubs, 3) they have a Commercial French major, combining both French and business/econ aspects, and 4) I really do think it would be a better fit for me.
Do you think these reasons are good enough to justify $20,000 more in debt? And if not, do you have any suggestions for how I could get more financial aid out of UIUC?

What school do you currently attend? Also how much can you afford so you would not go into debt? I’d be happy to suggest some large publics for you with more information. Are you only interested in the midwest?

I go to Grinnell College right now. And no matter what college I go to, I will go into debt. Only a community college would keep me out of the red. And thank you for the suggestion but at this point I really am only choosing between Grinnell and UIUC. I just want to know if people think it would be a bad idea to transfer if it means going more into debt.
