Need help on when to take SAT.

Hey guys,

I already took the SAT twice. First time I did terrible, because it was my first time and I didn't really care but whatever, that was stupid of me.

Second time, I did okay.. 1930 composite but I know I can do sooo much better than a 640 in math, over 700 for a fact. However, the Reading is what kills me. I never read and my vocabulary sucks compared to the kind of stuff on the SAT (surprisingly I only got 5 SC wrong.. idk how).

But my question is, should I take my third SAT in June? And bring my math score up (my reading will probably not go up because I haven't had time to study due to AP exams, projects, upcoming finals, etc.) I'm thinking of doing this so I will have a ~2000 for colleges to see when applying.

OR Should I take the SAT in October? I would be more confident with this as I will study my ass off with reading stuff like the NY Times, Direct Hits Vocab, etc all Summer long. I am sure I will raise my CR score significantly (from it's crap 590). But if I do this then October is so late for college applications.. and I don't want colleges to see a 1930 when reviewing me .

OR should I take both the June and October SAT? This is what I want to do but then colleges would see that I took the SAT 4 times..

Anyone want to help me?

I say go for October. You don’t want to have to take it 4 times. Anyway it is highly unlikely that you would have applied to most colleges by October, when the deadline is ~January 1. And even if you do, around october/ november, these schools would be worring about their EA/ED applicants.

Option 1: If you feel like you can improve your scores in June, take it then. Option 2: If not, take it in October. Option 3: Take in June as well as October–I wouldn’d exceed taking 4 SATs total though… then you start to look odd.

October. To improve reading scores takes a long amount of time so you have a better chance of increasing ur score if you take it in Oct rather than June

Thanks guys, I guess I’ll cancel the June SAT.

But uhm, for example UF already received my previous SAT scores so what if I apply in August/September BEFORE the October test? How will they know I want to send them my October results? And will they look at my May results before they get my October results?

bump

Thanks!
