Hi, Im currently in the process of looking at colleges to transfer to. I slacked off in high school and didnt take my SATs or ACTs. Im now taking my 4th semester at a community college and my accumulative GPA is 3.33 (3.0, 3.5, 3.5). I just decided on a major in international business with a concentration in marketing. Im having trouble finding the school that fits in with my criteria....1. A college with a good business program (many that i looked through dont have much on international business) that I can still get in to with average grades. 2. Generous with financial aid (i cant afford to pay more than $8,000 per year) 3. I live in Ohio and would prefer to go out of state. 4. Somewhat isolated campus. 5. A smaller student body..doesnt have to be 4, 000 students, but not 50,000 either... Please help!

You have created criteria that are mutually exclusive: a good IB school that accepts average students from out of state and gives good FA. Something has to give. Public Us (for the most part) only offer FA to in-state students. Those that don’t are extremely selective. If you really can’t afford more than $8K then it looks like you need to stay in-state. That way you have a shot at some financial aid. Have you actually looked at your EFC?

Like Erin’s Dad pointed out, conflicting criteria.

Try Shawnee State and work to get at least one study abroad gig. It is isolated from the rest of Ohio (2 criteria met) and International Business studies are a joke if you never leave the country. Companies want people who have been overseas and worked in another culture…reciting the GDP of Belgium and pointing it out on map doesn’t cut it. Get a General Biz degree there (your grades won’t matter much for admission (criteria met)) with your savings account intact (another criteria met).

I think that Eastern Michigan University fits.

It is out of state.
It is not hard to be admitted.
Your cc classes would transfer.

17,000 undergraduates.
Ypsilanti sounds like it would be somewhat isolated.
They have an international business major.
[EMU: Business School: Bachelors of Business Administration - Major in
International Business](http://www.cob.emich.edu/include/templatesubpage.cfm?id=1046)
They offer in-state tuition for Ohio residents, so it would be relatively inexpensive.
