errm...........where do we mail them? Pine road address or PO box?

Pine road. You can't use PO box addresses for the online label thing.

oh, one more question, how much does a normal sized letter envelope weigh?

I just guessed my package to weigh 4 ounces altogether. Because I looked up online, and it said a ream of paper that'll produce 500 sheets of paper weighs 24 pounds. 24 pounds is 384 ounces. 384 divided by 500 is around 0.7-something ounces. So a sheet of regular paper is about 0.7 ounces. I'm only submitting 2 sheets of paper in a large envelope, so I guessed 1.4 ounces for the papers, another 1.5 for the envelope and then another ounce for safety. I figured better to "overpay" (which you don't really, if you do the priority mail flat-something rate option) than for the package not to be mailed because I didn't pay enough.

NVM---- thought you were asking about stamps...

I did get in the fin. aid form with the tax returns and schds.... I actually was able to give everything to the mail-lady

Okay, thank you so much for your help

Same here, theonekid. Did you send in your Business/Farm supplement too though?

I just wrote them a letter (:D Printed on nice cotton paper) about how my 2005 tax returns weren't ready yet, and that I'd be able to send the BUFS form as soon as it is, which is in about 2 weeks.

^ that's directed to syneria. you really helped me out a lot.

:) No problem. Just relaying information other great CCers passed on to me! (With just a tab of personal experience. ;))

Couldnt send in my BUFS either (dont have the info needed).. but I'm pretty sure it's not due.. hopefully it will work out.. and I'll just call them monday.

i think you can just select 15oz (or even 1lb, 0 oz) for the online usps priority mail, it'll cost the same. if you use flat rate envelope (would you have to get the actual envelope?), then it'll be same price regardless of weight.

should we drop it off in a mailbox or should we go to the post office?? (main branches are open on sunday)

?! Actual envelope? There's an envelope for flat rate?!?!?!?!?! Uhoh.

Main branches are open on sunday?!

I'm so clueless about post offices.

Hm... it appears that Cornell extended their undergraduate admissions application deadline to January 7th (see my previous post in the other thread). Does this mean the financial aid application is pushed back as well?

there an envelope for flat rate, but we probably won't need it because most of our form packages are under a pound. The NYC main branch is open 24 hours, and on sunday, not positive about other branches.

PO is closed Jan 2

My question: How should we give the post office our envelopes with the online sticker (and is it ok to print on regular paper and then gluestick/tape it on)?

That's what I'm doing. But be careful not to tape over the barcode or something, as the instructions said.

Theonkid:

Your PM box is full.

can anyone answer a_s's question about the fin aid deadline being pushed back?

I'm not sure efio_47. Since Cornell is need blind, the applications for admission and financial aid are going to two different places for independent review. And I suppose it is possible for one committee to extend a deadline and the other not.

I find nothing at the financial aid webpage about deadline extension. Anyone else?
