need help with transferring decision

I am currently a freshman at Virginia Tech. Tech has always been my number one school. When I got accepted last spring, I never gave it much thought about which school I want to attend. Tech is a great school, I love everything about it. Now that I'm here, I have having second thoughts about my decision six months ago. I now know that the Bio/Chem/Engineering field is not for me (tech is well known for engineering). I an planning to do Human Nutrition Food and Exercise but deep down I want to go into the criminal justice field. I've been having a lot of thoughts about transferring to GMU. It is near my house so I would save A LOT of money living off campus. I can get a job and save up for my books and loans. Everything that I can think of points towards Mason. My parents want me to stay at Tech (because I havent told them about the criminal justice thing yet). What should I do? Stay at tech and study in something I don't like as much but graduate with a degree from "tech". Or, should I transfer to a less well known college, save money, and major in something that interests me. Please help...soon.

The obvious choice would be what your interested in. It could be selfish, but then again its your life not your parents.
