I am a transfer student from Washington state and am currently a college sophomore. I am planning to transfer this coming fall (August-September 2012) but am stuck between 3 choices. I am lucky to be admitted into the biochemistry programs at

Rutgers University- New Brunswick (New Jersey)
Penn State University- University Park (Pennsylvania)
University of Illinois- Urbana Champaign (Illinois)
University of Wisconsin- Madison (Wisconsin)
Binghamton University (New York)
University of Washington- Seattle (Washington)

but I need help deciding between Penn State University, University of Illinois- Urbana Champaign, and University of Wisconsin- Madison.

The reason why I'm not considering University of Washington- Seattle is because I want to study out of state and see how that is like because I have been attending 2 years locally.

Out of the three that I'm considering, I have only visited Penn State University and I loved it. I don't think any campus visit that I have visited in the past has ever captivated me as much.

I want to attend a school that does well academically and will make me love the campus life. I am also hoping to keep a good GPA throughout my undergraduate years to apply to medical school.

But here's what I know as of right now between the 3 schools and some of my concerns.

University of Wisconsin- Madison- Received $7,500 of loans; Biochemistry program ranked #5 in the nation (Will this make it harder to maintain a good GPA with the competition of smarter students?); Snows and is freezing all the time. Located in a larger city.

University of Illinois- Urbana- Champaign- Received $48,000 of loans (Since they are all loans, this isn't a huge deciding factor for my family). Biochemistry program ranked slightly under University of Wisconsin- Madison. Located in a larger city.

Penn State University- Received $7,500 of loans. I know for a fact that I love the campus, although the biochemistry program isn't as great as my other choices). Easy access to New York City, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, etc. Located in a small college town.

Any suggestions/ recommendations? I'm so lost right now, but thanks in advance!
