Guy's please help me out. I gave my SAT in March and got a 1650. CR : 500 Writing (Essay =9) : 500 Maths : 650
i scored really low, one of the reasons is because i didnt have enough time to study as i was preparing for my finals. i am appearing for Oct. i have 3 months to study. I want to to get 2200+ score. Yes im being optimistic. I CAN DO IT. please tell me how can i improve my CR and writing to 700+. Currently im committing 80 College level words per day. i have the intention of memorizing all the 3500 words of barron (i'll do it by mid-Aug) and im reading complex articles every day for 1.5 hours ( Time Magazine, The Economist, Scientific American ) im reading Barron's Writing section. i think i am improving (as in reading critically, I think). PLease give me more advices. and what im doing is right ? will it help more drastically.

I’m also studying like 6+ hours a day

best piece of advice I ever got:

use up ALL practice materials by college board (in total 33/35 tests: blue book, QAS, online course).

For writing: use silverturtle’s guide and Ultimate SAt grammar guide.
For essay: Use the how to write a 12 essay in 10 days thread. it’s goo enough to get you at least 10.
for math: practice after learning basic concepts.
for CR: ONLY use CB materials. don’t use ANY third party materials for the tests. but DO use skills from those test materials.

It seems like you have enough time to get in all the prep you need. Once you feel you have developed a solid footing in the actual material (particularly math), I would suggest doing full timed practice exams on a regular basis and work through as many as you can. I think people tend to overlook the mental endurance necessary to take the SAT. It is long, and students are generally exhausted after they finish (I know I was). I think training yourself to take the exam is definitely important. And make sure you mark every exam you take! You want to look at the questions you answered incorrectly or didn’t answer to identify weak areas. This will help you direct your studying and target areas that have the greatest potential for improvement. I hope this helps and good luck!
