Need more financial aid

I am an incoming undergraduate to the University of Miami. I have a strong academic background with a 5.4 weighted GPA, 4.0 unweighted GPA, 1400 on my SAT, and ranked at #1 in my class. I received 20,000 from the President's scholarship and full Bright Futures. However, I still have to a pay a significant amount of money to the school. I was wondering if anyone knew of anything I could do to maybe have my financial aid increased or have my merit scholarship reevaluated. I would not mind doing work study or anything like that. Or if anybody has any tips on how to cut costs. Thanks.

out of 2400 or 1600?

To cut costs: don’t buy new text books, look for used on amazon; take the cheaper room and board options; if you’re spending down your traveling points at the end of a semester use them for breakfast bars for the following semester.

Also, if you are willing to do work study, then find a job. Work study is an award, but without it, you can still work, it’s just that your income will count as income, whereas with WS, it won’t.

You likely got your award some time ago and you chose to accept it and now it is May 2nd. What are you going to do to pay for the out of pocket expenses?

How much will your parents pay each year?

You’re getting about half the costs covered with aid (BF, merit, and student loan). How were you planning on covering the rest?
