Hello Community,
I am new around here, you could call me Richard if you want.

Well, I need your help ...I know I can't get in to NYU as a freshman, and I will study in a different University in the coming Fall 2014 (now i'm still in high school). I really want to transfer to NYU as a SOPHOMORE, or as a junior to stern(i heard that it's very difficult), but I don't quite know what to do to MAXIMIZE my CHANCES... And I heard that people say that transferring within the same state is easier...does that mean I have to find university in New York State?

So please, community, I really need your advices and help me plan ahead.
Plz tell me everything I have to do to get in to NYU...May be it could be : GPA, starting up Clubs, Voluntary work, community services, internship programs to study or anything you think it's important for me to do to maximize my chances of transferring to NYU.

One last reminder, plz give concrete examples of what I should do, I don't mind reading long paragraphs than few lines that don't help...Thank You Very Much!

(Worst case scenario, I still want to transfer to some good business school, so you could still share your thoughts and experience of transferring to different business school or transferring as a sophomore)

How are the community colleges in your area? In CA they are actually pretty good. Most people here goto CC, get their general education courses done along with pre-reqs for their majors and transfer junior year. NYU is a private so I don’t think they would give preference to in-state applicants. You just need to call up the school and find the transfer agreements or what courses will articulate / what you need to take. Of course you can goto a 4 yr uni and then transfer, you will just be paying extra for tuition and most likely the courses will be more difficult.

Other good business schools you can transfer in. Assuming you complete Calc 1 and 2 with A’s USC Marshall and Michigan Ross shouldn’t be difficult to get in.

Thx for your reply bomerr.
I didn’t think about applying for CC, since I believe I can handle uni courses especially maths cal and stats well… u might be wondering why am i so troubled at finding uni or NYU and stuff…Cause I had bad gpa, SATs and behavior problems, I wish to restart in uni and transfer. I just want to hear more from people about the preps to equip me to be more competitive and increase my chances…

Well Thats great! I really need to hear from an insider, since I’m new and haven post 15 posts yet, I couldn’t PM you…Is it possible you PM me so I could reply? Thanks
