I just took a 1996 exam and got 63/80. I felt I did a lot worse, but somehow pulled out this grade. Is this good for a 5? Also, I would really appreciate if i could get a more recent exam…especially 2006. PM me if you have it, thanks!

According to this grade calculator (very helpful btw) [AP Pass - AP Us Calculator](AP U.S. History Test Score Calculator - AP Pass)

A 65/80 is a 81.3% and if you get at least 4’s on all of your essays, then it should be good enough for a 5.

But don’t take anything for granted, keep working hard.

if your a decent writer, what essay grades can you expect? Do they give out 6’s rather easily?

I heard 5’s are the most common essay grade and it’s a bell curve from there

well i took a test from 1988 and got 85/100. Then i took a princeton review test and got 63/80. Is it safe to say im good? Because im still not confident…lol

^I would not rely on tests from so long ago as an indicator of your success. Tests have gotten harder as years have went on. Take review tests in review books and see how you do. I did the '96 test within a 40 minute lunch period and pulled a 76/80 but when I did my Princeton Review Test which is probably harder, I got like 62/80 or something.
