Need some advice

Well, I'm currently attending Baruch College in New York. I'm unhappy with Baruch overall. There is no campus, people just come to classes and go home, and there are no dorms. I had high expectations for college, but Baruch College has been very mediocre; even my high school was more challenging. I also hate living at home and commuting every day. I'm a pretty smart guy, I'm just really lazy (trying to change). I definitely want to transfer, the question is whether i should transfer my sophomore year or junior year. My only concern is that my high school gpa was very average.

High school gpa: 81 - i think that's a 2.9? (went to a tough high school that's ranked nationally)
SAT :1340 out of 1600
Average extra-curricular activities

College gpa: 3.5
Tennis Team- a substitute for now
Grassroots
Internship at Northwestern Mutual over the summer

I could not attend a school where I would have to pay more than 10,000 for tuition. My EFC was like 2,000 last year. What kind of schools could I get into my sophomore year. I would like to attend a school in Northeast. Thinking of majoring in economics or finance, still undecided.

Wait until your junior year. By then, your high school GPA will be nearly insignificant, and you have more time to bring your college GPA up to a 3.7 or higher. Your internship will look good, but you should also try to get involved (as much as you may dislike your school) during the academic year.

Hope that helps!

If your sure that you will transfer if you can get into your school for sophmore year then transfer now ( for sophmore year), if not then you may want to consider tranfering for junior year. If you find yourself to be a junior and considering to transfer for senior year, I doubt it’s worth it and would suggest to just complete your undergraduate there.

my question is whether or not i could get into schools like binghamton, Boston University/College, Northwestern, or Northeastern (just to list some) sophomore year.

bump, need some advice

You can try, but don’t be surprised if your rejected because of your high school credentials. Though if you earn enough credits some colleges will not ask it for evaluation.
