Need some good advice here

Hello,

Didn't know this website existed, but good thing I found about it(Bear with me as I give my story).

I am currently a sophomore student at UT Arlington, and it has been quite a ride here for me.You see, when I moved here,I did not know where or what I was going.I have not researched well enough, thus I feel I am paying the punishment. The school is a big time commuter(where most people live off campus).I have stayed in the dorms here, and all I can say its been a mixed bag(about the people here).MOST I have met with are people who you cannot link with, and always stay by themselves or just facebook their high school friends. Then some just hang out on their circle(high school friends again),and then the fratboys as usual(mad social people, but I am not a drinker).

I have met a few people here and there, but all just live off campus or I do not get a chance to speak with them again.I honestly thought maybe it was something wrong with me,but I cannot decide whether it is me being too critical or the school is just like this.It is not as great as UT Austin, but was atleast hoping something similar.

I am looking at my transfer options, and so far have decided that I am heading to Texas State(have applied already)so I am hoping I make my transfer next year. But I can't help but think whether I am making the right decision here.Going to a new place again is daunting for me,and I have no intention of getting a repeat like this there. And again,if this keeps on going,I am just lose my sanity.

Since I have spent a good time in my comfort place here(too much),it spoiled me and now I am wondering whether to go or stick here and improve myself. The teachers aren't that great anyway, and the quality of students are pretty shocking (in the bad side).I almost was heading towards drugs, but stopped myself in the last minute thinking about my parents and how much money they are spending on me.

I know I am may have not summarized well(and other things I have left out),but would be great if anyone can give me advice on this.If you have gone through this, let me know what you did.

Thanks for reading all of this.
