I messed up big time and didnt take any SAT II subject tests and the deadline is days away, I already applied to SMG and now I just found out they are required. Yea, I know it was a big oversight on my part and I’m really kicking myself now. My chances at getting in were already alittle shakey and this will proabaly kill me.

Does anyone know if me calling BU monday morning to explain my situation and seeing if they will switch me to CGS will do any good? Will not taking the test really kill my chances?

This is really annoying because i already paid the app fee…

If you don't switch, you'll probably be rejected. Perhaps a standby test in Jan with rushed scores would do it...but I don't know. I think they take the Feb ACT, then you don't need SAT ii's

Umm, if you call and ask to talk to an admissions director or assistant director and explain your situation, you might be able to get help. Ask them what to do. I wouldn't count yourself out. Call and see what they say.

Thanks for the advice. It just really feels horrible to make a mistake that completely disqualifies me. I'd rather be rejected atleast knowing my application was looked at.

I just really hope somone in the BU admissions office can and will make this change. I am sort of rethinking the fact that I didn't apply undeclared to all of my schools, would have avoided this problem.

Tell them you'll take the SAT 2s in Jan. and the Spring. You can take up to 3 in one setting but I wouldn't recommend more then 2 at a time. I'm sure there is a little wiggle room. How many does SMG require?

SMG requires two. They are recommended for all the schools where they arent required, but what does that mean anyway? Do you have a better chance at acceptance if you take the II's?

I called admissions this morning and the woman I spoke to was more than happy to change me the CGS and quite frankly I'm happier with that. I think I'd rather be undeclared for the time being.
