Need some school infos

Hi guys,
I've just finished my application and now I'm choosing which school that I am applying to.
Though at first this seems like an easy step but turns out it isn't. (ranting...)
Anyway, here's my proposed list of schools. I'm a 9th grader and my SSAT is 76 (2172)
Can you guys (parents, visitors, students, alumni) tell me what you feel about these schools,
what are your likes and dislikes. Greatly appreciated. :)
Hotchkiss
Loomis
Peddie
Blair
Cranbroook

Oh, right, can someone tell me what are the chances of getting to these schools for me?
Thanks A LOT

I absolutely LOVED Loomis, everybody seemed so friendly and cheerful!!

As for your chances I think it depends on every school, but dont forget that… Ssat is not everything, they’ll also look at your

 • Essays
 • Recommendations
 • Interview
 • Grades
 • Extracurriculars ?

Thanks mexstudent2013
Are you a student/visitor/parent at loomis? (just curious)
I’m doing pretty good in school (mostly As)
I think I have a sufficient amount of extracurricular activities (I think?)
And I’m done with my application (rec, essays, etc)
Oh, I did have an interview with all of these schools (except Peddie and Hotchkiss)
But the thing I am still most worry about is my SSAT score, I’m planning to take the Jan SSAT but I’m afraid that I might miss most school’s deadline.
So, should I retake it?
Thanks

Im also a prospective student (You can easily guess which country I am from) I am also applying to Loomis and Hotchkiss, among other schools, and I did all my interviews on the school campus.

Your Ssat is on the 90% so I wouldn’t worry about it, but in my opinion you should ask your admission counselors (interviewers) about the Ssat

Thanks
Wow, interviewing on campus is SUPER NICE.
I’m actually an international student, too (Viet Nam). I did most of my interviews when the admission officers visited my country (except Peddie, Hotchkiss which I’ll have an interview over Skype).
How’s Hotchkiss, by the way? What’s the environment feels like?

The campus is AMAZING!! But I didnt felt like it would be the place for me, thoug maybe it was the best campus I saw, dont let my experience discourage you, it mostly depends on the student, maybe Its because I felt it too Smartie for me

Thanks for the feedback
Are there any other schools that you’re applying to which the atmosphere is friendly?
P.s I actually visited Hotchkiss for the summer but there was some kind of show so all of the students + faculty went to see it. That’s why I had no chance to speak to any admission officer and just wandered down the main hall.

DEFINITELY YES!!

Taft school!! and NMH!!
Take a close look at them, they are amazing! people are very friendly! at NMH people talk to you even if they dont know you! maybe it was the school which I felt the most friendly
