Need suggestions for the girlfriend--please help me shut her up

Ok so basically I love my girlfriend but shes been complaining non stop about not being able to find the perfect school which is why im asking/begging you all to help me give her some suggestions. Heres a quick look at her numbers/personality

-she is looking for a school that isnt overwhelmingly big but not tiny either (between 3k-20k)
-she loves to have fun and party but isnt hardcore at all
-she doesnt prefer the whole intense school spirit football painting your face scene but could deal with it
-shes looking for somewhat of a change from long island (i.e. more laid back, less emphasis on brand names, more friendly) but not totally different
-she doenst want to go too far from home (long island) but would consider going as far west as wisconsin or as far south as virginia
-shes only looking for either rural or suburban campuses (no cities)
-shes not as intensely academic as most of the people profiled on this site are, basically she doesnt want to be studying at midnight on a saturday night when she could be with a lovely gentlemen like myself

now for the fun (academic) stuff

Very competitive/highly ranked Long Island high school which doesnt rank

GPA:3.9 (not sure how they calculate but lets assume its unweighted)

Courseload: Rigorous yet not as rigorous as possible

AP's: Freshman/Sophomore: none
Junior: Bio, Stat, English Comp
Senior: Art History, Calc AB, Micro Eco, Lit, Spanish

Standardized Tests:
SAT: 710 (M) 640 (CR) 720 (W) 2070 (total)
SAT II: 680 (Bio) 670 (Math I)

EC's:
-Spanish Honors Society (President)
-National Honors Society
-Won a regional digital art contest
I dont know the rest of her ec's/awards but figure that they are generic and wont help/distinguish her but wont hurt her

Prospective major for the next five minutes: Psychology

These are the schools that shes considering as of now:

Reaches:
Cornell (number 1 choice/may apply ed to human ecology for human development)
UVA

Matches/Safeties:
Delaware
Maryland
Binghamton

I have no idea what matches/reaches to suggest for her so pleaseeeeee help me out

I would suggest looking in North Carolina, too (Wake Forest, UNC, Davidson)...

I wouldn't get her heart set on UVA, just fwiw.

Colgate University is in upstate NY and has just under 3,000 undergrads

what about the colleges you're looking at so you could be together LOL

Cornell sounds like a great fit.

For NY, maybe add SUNY Geneseo, University of Rochester

Stf: I suggested NC but she just brushed it off
Emerald: shes going to see colgate later this summer
ajr: HAHA um we both love Cornell but thats about all the overlap we have, she and I both know we're different people, nuff said

try some UC schools

Michigan state university. Come on we need more smart people. Joking aside, her scores absolutly crush mine. Because of that, I dont have alot of experience on colleges for her level. What has helped me alot is places like Counsolar-O-Matic where you just type in your scores, location, and size you want and it gives you alot of places that match your interests. Dont listen to its ratings on safetys, and reaches.

I have a 27 ACT and a 3.6 GPA and it said I have NO reaches anywhere. Its very good for giving you colleges that match your interests though.

http://www.princetonreview.com/college/research/advsearch/match.asp

She should check out the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor as a match/reach and Northwestern as a reach.

Sounds like you have a true female on your hands!!!!

^ hehe! Seriously, I think most 17-18 year olds, regardless of gender, change their mind about major and professions many times.

I read an article once that said the average student changes their major 3 times before they graduate.

I suggest your girlfriend checks "undeclared"

Sounds like you have a true female on your hands!!!!

If you werent probably bigger and younger than I, I think I would smack you around for that one!
majoreyeroll

and no "Im not" menopausal!.....yet
:p

any liberal art college would do just fine.

The "please help me shut her up"part of your subject makes it sound like you really don't give a fig about her, and it makes you sound like a caveman.

If you really want to help her, my advice is to suggest that your GF post on CC about her college search.

"don't give a fig about her" and "makes you sound like a caveman" Northstarmom? LOL The youth will say the darndest things non? hehe!

hello!!!what about boston university,University of pennsylvania,Brown,Ithaca college,university of chicago

ithaca has a beautiful campus, or so i've heard

I'd suggest you check out Tufts as a reach-match.
